I feel like a lot of peoples advice, when it comes to the topic of bullying is ‘ignore them’ or ‘stand up for yourself’ and that’s great advice but I feel like it leaves, a lot of people thinking 'well, how do I get to the stage where I can ignore them/stand up for myself’ and it might go without saying, but this will take sometime and it’s all about building up self confidence.

Bullying is NEVER okay (shouldn’t have to say this!) but I personally, always think in more depth, around the situation of 'bullies’- Often people 'bully’ others as a kind of shield, so nobody picks on them and so the attention or spotlight isn’t shining on them and I would just like to say - If you are reading this and you openly know that you have 'picked’ on someone, for sake of your own reputation or to look 'strong’ or 'big’, then there are lots of other ways to tell people that you are a strong person, than pick to on someone for anything - and others might even say that bullies are the weakest ones! I also say this a lot, 'Think if you were in that situation and how you would feel’ and to be honest, more times than not, you can see how someone is feeling by their facial and body expressions - so if you’re reading this and you can admit to yourself that you’ve done this, then stop - there is honestly no need for it! Why do you want to make someone feel upset/down? You’re not gaining anything, apart from getting into big trouble at the end of it all - it’s not even 1% worth it!

I would say to all the people that feel like they have been bullied, that think what makes you happy and also, think about what means a lot to you. It is harder than others to do this and it will take some people more time and this isn’t a weakness - bullying effects a lot of people more than others, but it shouldn’t happen at all! The first step that I would 100% suggest is to talk to someone, and this can be anyone that you feel comfortable with telling - and then they can find out what’s been happening and make sure you’re totally open with them, because they are taking time out to get your best interest and to make things happier and more enjoyable for you! These people that are bullying you and making you feel down, aren’t worth your time and it is important to remember this - your friends, your family and the people that mean a lot to you, are the people that are worth your time. Why get upset over people that don’t mean nothing to you? These people are trying to upset you, why let them win? I also find that sometimes, if you don’t show that it is bothering you then a lot of the time, they get bored! Even if it is effecting you, go somewhere else with a friend and away from the person who is picking on you, because eventually they won’t see that it is bothering you and then it will stop!

I really hoped that this post, may of helped you in some way! Remember, that bullies aren’t worth your time and don’t let them win! I hope you have a great week and I’d also like to say, if you’re taking exams this week - Well done for any that you have already done and good luck to any upcoming!

HOW TO DEAL WITH BULLIES

I thought that I’d share a little easy recipe that I put together, not so long ago which I adore so much! Sponge cakes are really easy to experiment with and I got so bored of just making sponge cakes, but they are really common - so this is a recipe that you could try out yourselves or give you some inspiration when baking!

You will need:

  • 200g Caster Sugar
  • 200g Butter (at room temperature - this makes it easy to mix!)
  • 200g Self Raising Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • Chocolate fingers
  • Chocolate chips (Add as many as you want, why the hell not?! haha)

The Fun Part:

1. Pre-heat oven at 190 degrees (Gas mark 5!)
2. Mix the butter and sugar until soft.
3. Add one egg and half of the flour and mix (when you have mixed this, then add the other egg and the rest of the flour and mix again!)
4. (You could also melt them in the microwave) Melt your chocolate fingers in a bowl, on top of boiling water until smooth and bumpless (or any other chocolate, you want instead or as well as the chocolate fingers - and once melted, add into the mixture and stir!)
5. This is the time, where you add your chocolate chips and mix it all together!
image

6. Put equal amounts of the mixture into each case and put into the oven for 20 minutes - reduce the amount of times that you open the oven, whilst they’re cooking because with cakes, every time you do open the oven, then they rise down and this is not what we want! This will also increase the time that they will take to cook :) (I normally just open it quickly, half way through to check how they’re doing)
7. *20 minutes later!* Take them out of the oven and I always insert a knife into each one, cleaning after everyone and if the knife comes out clean, then this means they are definitely cooked! :)
8. Let them cool, grab a hot drink and enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post, I love baking - not so much eating them, as I’m not really a sweet tooth, but it’s nice occasionally - when I really fancy it haha! I just would much rather have a pasty or something but cakes are so fun to make - I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I hope you have just as much fun, doing this recipe as I did!

1. Packing your bag the night before - I always do this and it makes you feel so much less stressed in the morning and one less thing that you have to worry about, especially if you’re in a rush the next morning to be somewhere!
image

2. Set your alarm clock to your favourite song - I think that this is such a good one and works for me so much better than the annoying default iPhone alarm! Waking up to your favourite song playing can put you in such a better mood for the rest of the day and it also lets you start your day on a positive!
3. Organise what you’re going to wear the night before - This is for similar reasons to packing your bag the night before, you will feel so much organised in the morning, when you wake up and also If you’re anything like me and get in such a grumpy mood when you can’t find something to wear, then this solves our problem! I have recently started doing this and I’m not just saying this but it makes such a difference and saves so much annoying time!
4. Have something you enjoy for breakfast and look forward to it! - Eating has always been a hobby of mine, so waking up to something that I really enjoy, puts me in such a good mood for the rest of the day!
5. Schedule your timings - Being organised is a big must for me! It makes such a difference to my ‘happy level’ - So I have found that if I write in my calendar on my iPhone, what time my bus comes and where I have to be and at what time, then it makes me feel so much more organised and I also leave time for myself, so I know that I’m not rushed :)
6. And finally the last step! - I feel like for you to be a happy ‘morning person’, organisation is a big thing! So I find waking up to a tidy room, makes me feel so much happier already! But I think this step depends on you, because some people are not as tidy as others (and that’s fine haha!)
I hope you enjoyed this little different kind of blog post that I have done, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday! :)

HOW TO BE A 'MORNING PERSON'?

This is a topic that is very close to my heart and something that I think that everyone should understand. You may be sat here reading this and be thinking ‘What is Equality?’ Equality is all based around, everyone being treated the same, doesn’t matter what gender, sex, sexuality, race, colour or anything! It’s all about keeping the peace. And I think it is great - Although I think that it shouldn’t of been such a big deal, everyone should have been treating everyone the same anyway because after all, we’re all human and all here to do the same thing! (Eat loads of crap and have a great time!)
At some point in your life, if you haven’t yet, you will see equality. There are all different kinds of people in this world and that is why the Equality act got put into place, to make the world equal and happy! All my life, I have been surrounded by people stretching equality in one way or another and I’ve also heard so much about in the media! I’d just like to say that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or how much money you have got in your pocket, everybody is the same and I apologize for my repetition but this is so true… We are all on here to do the same thing and we should be supporting each other! We should all be coming together, not growing apart.
As I am writing this blog post it is 'Trans Day Of Visibility’ and this is supporting the people in the trans community who by law, cannot be visible with who they are and this came to my attention to write this blog post and it is something that I am really passionate about and 100% support and I wanted to share this message with you today :)
I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon and I hope you’re all very well!

This is something that has been on my mind for years now and I have always been a strong believer of the fact that you should be your total self and not worry about what others are going to think. I have written a blog post very similar to this before but I really want to highlight the fact that it is okay to stand out and to do something different and not to be put off by your friends taking the absolute Michael! Although, I think the world is changing so much and things are becoming much more acceptable, (but they should of been, to begin with!) people still get judged.

I think confidence is the key and is also something that a lot of people may lack and I’m more than certain when somebody judges you on what you’re planning to do then it will knock you down, even more! But It’s really important to know why you started doing what you do, it’s obviously because you enjoy it and are passionate for what you do!
I also think that some people may think that it is easy to do what everybody else is doing and fit in, rather than doing something and unique! But why would you want to be the same? As scary as it may sound.. and you may have been wanting to do something different for years but have always been to scared. I always think to myself… ‘If they’re real friends then they won’t care’ and I can honestly say that the quote has spoken to me so strongly and it really worked for me. Everyone feels like this at some point, you are not alone! :)

The message of this post, is to not worry what other people think because you are doing it for a reason and you need to remember the reason you started, whenever you get knocked down by people who maybe.. don’t like what you do? But it doesn’t matter if they don’t like it because you’re doing it, not them! Remember that you don’t have to be doing, what everyone else is doing. It’s good to be unique and different!

It's Okay To Be Different

Happy Sunday! Get ready for a very rambly blog post.. I haven’t done one of these in ages, so grab a hot drink and let’s get started! :)

First of all, I’d like to say that everyone in this world would change something about themselves, so don’t think you’re alone! A lot of people don’t like discussing their insecurities, which is also completely normal - but you’d find that, if you did then ALL of your friends would say the same (and if not then they’re lying!)

Being insecure is not a bad thing and you shouldn’t feel ashamed/hide it away. It is a way that we look at ourselves and it is our perception of ourselves, this is not everybody’s perception of us - So, if you look in the mirror and you point out one of your insecurities to yourself then that doesn’t mean that someone else will look at you and dislike what you dislike about yourself. We are all born with the characteristics and looks that we have and I think it’s wonderful, some people choose to change their looks through surgery or through make-up, which I think is fine too but I also think that it is really important to remember who you are and be proud of the life that you lead and the body you were given. I know a few girls who openly say that they hide their looks with make-up and I don’t think anyone should hide what they look like because everyone is different and everyone wants to change something about themselves. Woke up with a spot? It’s completely normal and happens to everyone!

My message is that you should love the skin that you’re in and this may take longer than others but in time, you can feel confident and not worry what people think. Please remember, that we are all human and nobody is perfect and everyone has something that they would change about themselves - You’re not the only one, it is completely normal!
