Whenever I meet someone and tell them that I'm a blogger, the first thing I always get asked is 'how much do you earn?' and I don't find it rude but it is quite intrusive but I want to be more open about things that I'm doing and one of the things that people aren't so open about is how money money they earn or where their income is coming from and of course, I would never sit here and give you an exact figure however I think it's really interesting for people to know, especially people who want to get into blogging, the way it essential works is that if someone has 1 million views on a blog post then they would earn from £1,000 up to £5,000 on that certain post. My first tip that I would say and I've heard 90% of people in the industry also say this: do not start it because of the money, even as appealing as the figures sound. You need to have the passion and the drive to keep on doing this off your own back because there is nobody to sit there and force you to post - the effort has gotta come from you. Also, it comes across so obvious if someone is doing something purely for the press releases and money.

Affiliate Marketing is the main way I generate an income through my blog and this is essentially where you advertise products or sales for brands and receive a certain amount of commission for sales you drive to their website. The little ADs on the side of my blog drive traffic to the brand's website which they can see it's came from my blog, therefore I will receive so much percentage of the money they made through that sale, I also think it carries on for a few days - so if you go back onto that website then it will still be tracked back to my blog. Adsense is also very similar to this but Google will place appropriate advertisements around your website for  the kind of content you create on your platform, instead of you building the individual ads in the blog yourself and Adsense used to be the main way people earn money through blogs but it is now not as high paying as it use to be and not a lot of bloggers bother with it as much but it is still a revenue stream for online creators.

Sponsored posts are now the way that bloggers make quite a big 'lump sum' and that's just essentially a big value of money for their work but this also depends on the bloggers influence and how big their audience is. Most online bloggers and youtubers have something called a Media Kit which is where you basically sell yourself to a brand that you'd like to work with. Often the brand will provide the budget but sometimes they will ask the blogger to discuss their own fees that they think their exposure is worth. Sponsored posts are great and it's amazing that bloggers can work with brands they love and also earn money from it. I personally don't do a lot of sponsored posts and as I have said in a previous post, I actually turn down most of the offers I get sent and this is just because I don't want to overload my content with paid work. I enjoy doing this for free, I don't mind not earning money from posts but when a brand I exceptionally love contacts me then of course I'm going to grab it with two hands - I find it exciting, so why not?

Just a little disclaimer to end this post off, this was not me bragging in any way shape or form - a lot of people are interested in making money through their passion with blogging and I thought this post would help a lot of people who are in that situation. I hope you enjoyed this little 'insider' post and I hope it may of answered any questions that you may have had.

If you're a regular reader of my blog then you will be very familiar with my love for The Body Shop and their amazing products.. if you're new, then hello and welcome. I'm obsessed. I first tried their face mask range when they kindly sent me three testers and since then I have honestly never looked elsewhere.

The Himalayan Charcoal Mask is basically the best skincare item I own and it will solve all of your skin related issues! I normally just leave the mask on until it has shaped into a mould and gone hard.. and then you're ready to scrub it off. It's super easy to remove and kinda acts as a exfoliator as well, leaving your skin feeling so smooth, soft and of course, clean.

The amount of improvement that I have saw regarding my skin has been a miracle in my eyes and through a time where I was literally searching for a product that would cleanse and smooth my skin, The Body Shop saved me. I was sick of having bad skin. Pampering yourself is the best, especially when it has so many benefits for your skin. The Body Shop offer a wide range of skincare, not just face masks which you can take a look at here.

Hello from poorly me. Do you ever have those moments that you never want to forget? Well that's exactly why I started my scrapbook. I don't know if I'm the only one that is like this but there are certain moments that at the time, was such a massive deal in my life which aren't now looking back but I want to remember them, some are good and some are bad. I started my scrapbook last year and one of the reasons was that I want to look back on things that have happened that meant so much to me at some point in my life - I'm kind of scared of forgetting certain things or certain people, which is weird but I think that's what it is. As months and years go in, I hope to fill it up more and then I can look back in 30-40 years time where there will obviously be people that I no longer have contact with and remember them.

I also think it's good if I ever have children as I do wish had more photos of my parents when they were my age to see what they looked like and what the fashion was like back then. It would be interesting for my children to look back when I was their age. Even little days out with my Mum, that happen all the time will mean so much to me when I'm older so I personally want to treasure those moments with pictures. I would also never want to forget this platform, will I still be doing this in 20 years time? Who knows? I want to remember all the brands I worked with and all the views I reached because this is a huge deal to me at this point in my life and something I've accomplished. I'm proud and it's proven to me that if you work at anything hard enough then you will see results and success.

(the book I use is linked here - the label maker I use is linked here)
I'm so happy I started it because I never want to forget any events in my life, good or bad to be honest because as 'cringe' as it sounds, its made me who I am today and I've learned a lot along the way.

SNIPPETS INSIDE MY SCRAPBOOK

Hello *takes a huge breath out*. Where has the year gone? That's my first thought and also, why has this year been so shit? I wanted to make this post my last of 2017 to sum up everything that's happened that I'd like to discuss. For me, it's been one of my most eventful years of my life to date and I want to take this time to discuss what's happened and document events. I never really look forward to a new year until now, I cannot wait to put 2017 behind me and look forward to things that are upcoming in the new year. I've tried writing this post so many times with a plan and it just hasn't worked so I think it's best we just have a chat about my year. Let's start, shall we?

I wanted to start with something positive as a lot of points in this post are going to sound like a big dwell on the whole year but that's not what I want to do. I just wanna discuss everything. So, my blog reached 200,000 views.. what? I cannot stress this enough but when I started writing this blog, I did not even think that it would get to 100 views, never mind 200,000. It's insane and I'm so thankful for you all and I'm excited for what's going to happen in 2018. I've spoken about this in a post previously but I find it so strange because I used to read lots of blogs before starting my own and I use to see people hitting milestones and now it's happening to me - insane. I am honestly so excited for the new year when it comes to my blog.

Something that I would find hugely strange if I didn't speak about is my parents unfortunately splitting up. This still doesn't feel real to me, if i'm honest. I'm not going to go into detail about this because it's a personal situation that involves a lot of people and I want to respect my parents' privacy but I genuinely thought this would be the last thing to ever happen to me and it still hasn't sunk in but it really makes me think of how my life was before, at family times. It's just strange I guess and something I've got to adapt to. You may be reading this and thinking that it's not a big deal because it happens to a lot of people and yes I get it, but everybody's family units are very different and it's not something I ever thought would happen. Of course, I'm an adult now and I'm mature enough to understand that things like this do happen but it's still a shock.

Do you know how weird it is for me to say that I was in a relationship this time last year? Because it actually makes me feel so weird! I've touched upon this in my Update : Relationship post but I have used every inch of what happened in that toxic relationship to change me as a person for the better and I can successfully say it 100% has. I am such a stronger person to what I were before it that I'm kind of thankful, it's a strange one - it messed my head up lots but I'm a better person for going through it. I think it's important to take the positives of every situation and this is a huge positive for me.

I had an operation, which was unexpected I have to say. I've never really touched upon my condition I have which is called Hydrocephalus (it's probably best you Google the definition, the procedure I had done was called third endoscopic ventricolosomy). I've had a quite a lot of procedures throughout my life starting from just three weeks old, so it's the norm but it's not something I think about unless I'm at my yearly check-up or when someone directly asks me, so I didn't expect this to happen but I'm so happy to say that it was a success and I'm on the mend. I will touch on my condition in a post soon and explain it all properly because I know I haven't really spoken about it before (I don't think I ever have) it would of been weird not to include it in my yearly round-up post.

I do not know where this year has gone, it's just flown by.. honestly. I am so grateful of everyone who has been with me throughout 2017, some new and some old people who have been in my life for a very long time. A lot has happened this year and I wanted to update you, I've been planning to do this post for so long and it feels such a relief to finally have it typed out in front of me. I just want to say a massive thank you for supporting me throughout this year because it makes me so so happy. It's been a hell of an eventful year and I'm hoping 2018 will bring me more smiles and laughter. Nevertheless, I am so ready for 2018 and I'm excited to share another year with you.
